Ingredients
RECIPE:
Extra firm or Super Firm Tofu, cut into cubes
1/4 cup cornstarch
Salt and pepper
1 tsp. Garlic powder
For the Sauce:
2 tbsp. Plant based Butter or real butter
3-4 cloves minced garlic
1 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp orange juice
1 small lemon, juiced
3 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp ginger powder
Pinch of black pepper
Instructions
Toss together until the tofu is full coated.
Then you can either add to your air fryer (spray with oil before placing in air fryer) bake on 375 for about 6 minutes and then turn them over and bake for another 2-3 minutes
Or in the oven on a baking sheet. Bake on 375F for 20 minutes. Flip over then bake another 10-12 minutes
Once the tofu is all nice and golden, make your sauce.
Melt the butter in a large pan, then add the garlic and mix. Let the garlic cook for a minute and then add the soy sauce, orange juice and lemon juice, bring to a simmer.
Then add the honey and spices, mix well and when the honey starts to thicken and simmer, add the tofu cubes in to the pan.
Coat the tofu with the sauce (lower the flame so not to bur the sauce) and let cook in the sauce for about 3-4 minutes.
Remove and then garnish with sesame seeds and chopped scallions.
Serve over rice or eat plain!
You can keep this in the fridge for up to 3 days.
