French Onion Garlic Tuna Melt

The only way I will ever make Garlic bread in my life again. 

It is worth every single step. 

Ingredients

Scale

For the Butter:

3 garlic heads, sliced tops

2-3 shallots

12 oz whipped unsalted butter

2 tsp. Salt

1 tsp. Black pepper

1 tsp. Oregano

For the Onions:

2-3 large white onions, sliced thin

1 large red onion, sliced thin

4 tbsp. Butter

3 tbsp. Oil

1/4 cup teriyaki sauce

3 tbsp. Heavy cream

Bread

2 cups shredded mixed cheese

Instructions

For the butter: 

Wrap the shallots and garlic in foil and roast on 450F in oven for 30 minutes 

Then add to the butter in a bowl with spices and mix till combined 

For the Onions: 

Sautee in pan with the butter and oil on medium low heat for 30 minutes. Once wilted and turning brown, add the teriyaki and cream and mix well. 

Assemble your Bread.

Spread the butter mixture, then add the tuna, then add the onions, then top it all with the shredded cheese.

Bake on 350F for 15-18 minutes till golden brown.
