Perfect #CHALLAH every single time!

I’m using @rhodesdough

It’s SUPER SIMPLE. 5 hour rise. 25 minutes in the oven. The end.

Fresh Challah at its best without all the hard work and effort.

So much better than store bought. I put it up in the morning on Friday and bake right before Shabbos for that crazy fluffy challah bread with a slightly crusty bottom (you can leave on a hot plate till the meal and then the bottom gets really crust – perfect crunch for all our dips!)

Let me know if you try this! I find my frozen rolls mainly in Walmart but you can also find them in target. Stop n shop, shop rite and other big chain groceries!

Ingredients

Scale

Frozen Rhode dough balls – defrosted for 5 hours

sesame seeds

For egg wash:

1 egg

2 tbsp water

1 tsp. Honey or sugar

Instructions

I defrost my balls either in the round tins im Baking them in for round challahs or on  baking sheet if I am rolling them  out into log for a braided challah.

For Round:

6-8 balls in a parchment lined tin. After they have risen, mix your egg wash in a bowl and gently brush the tops with the wash. Garnish with sesame seeds or your favorite topping.

Bake for 25 minutes in 350F

For Braided Challah:

roll out each defrosted ball. Then braid. You can dip on a wet paper towel and into seeds and then use that log to make your braid.

Egg wash and bake for 25 minutes on 350
