Red Wine Mushroom Minute Steak
RED WINE MUSHROOM MINUTE STEAK
🙏🏻🙏🏻 YES PLEASE!
This #slowcooked minute steak recipe is one of my all time favorite recipes to make – for some reason I rarely make it though 😝🤷♀️
Also my grandmother LOVES this recipe!
But when I get the craving, I am just so happy I have it in my recipe box, it’s just everything you want in a slow cook melt-in-your-mouth entree
I always serve it with mashed potatoes, because that red wine mushroom sauce – is LIFE!
This can sit in the fridge for a few days before serving. And freezes beautifully. I have also made it with Chicken and also terrific.
Ingredients
2 lbs minute steaks
1/4 cup flour
Salt and pepper
3-4 tbsp avocado oil
3-4 large onions, sliced
Spices:
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tbsp dried parsley
1 tbsp dried rosemary
2 tsp sweet paprika
1 tsp. Turmeric
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
3-4 cups mixed mushrooms (I used enoki & shitaki)
1 1/2 cup dry red wine
3 tbsp honey
2 heaping Tbsp. Tomato paste
Instructions
Cover your steaks in the flour and season with salt and pepper. Let it rest for about 20 minutes before next step.
In a large pot heat the oil, and then sear both sides of the floured meat for 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside
Then in the same oil add the sliced onions and all the spices and mix well. Then add the mushrooms and mix well. Lower flame and let cook down covered for 10 minutes.
Uncover and add the wine, honey and tomato paste and mix well. Then add back the meat and snuggle it under the mushrooms as best as you can.
Cover the pot and cook on low for minimum of 3 hours – mine took 3.5-4 hours – every flame and stove top is different so keep an eye on your meat after 3 hours.
Half way through, turn the meat over and cover again in the mushrooms.
Serve hot over mashed potatoes.
