
Sneaky Mom Hamburger Helper
Kosher Style.
The dinner I use to beg my mother to make because I was obsessed with the commercials.
Alas, not kosher.
But that didn’t stop me as an adult – I made my version of it. And a Healthy one at that!
Your kids will have no idea it has some delicious butternut squash and nutritional yeast in it.
Ingredients
1 box elbow noodles, cooked
For the Meat:
2 tbsp oil
1.5 lbs ground beef
2 tsp. Sweet paprika
1 tsp. Garlic powder
1 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Dried parsley
1 tsp. Black pepper
1 tsp. Onion powder
2 tsp. Chili powder
For the Sauce:
2 tsp. Oil
1 onion diced
1 bag @kosher_taste frozen diced butternut squash, defrosted
2 tsp. Smoked paprika
2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Black pepper
2 tsp. Dried parsley
2.5 tsp. Chili powder
2 tsp. Garlic powder
1 tsp. Onion powder
2 tbsp. Maple syrup
1/2 cup nutritional yeast
1/4 cup tomato paste
1 cup chicken broth (more if you need it a smoother consistency)
Facon, diced
Instructions
Add your facon to a baking sheet and bake on 400F for 10 minutes till crispy. Set aside
In a large pot sauce your ground meat in the oil. Mix with all the spices and cook till done. Remove and set aside.
In the same pot add the onions and butternut squash and mix well. Sautée for about 10 minutes and then add all the other ingredients for the sauce and mix well. Let cook for 3-4 minutes and then using a hand blender, blend till smooth.
Add the ground meat back in and mix well. Then add the cooked pasta into the pot and mix well.
Top with the crispy Facon. And Eat!
