Crispy “ground” Beef
When you just want good crispy beef but want it fast, cheap and delicious.
This is just a good recipe to keep in your supper ideas. It’s full of flavor, slightly spicy with just that good flavor you love from your favorite takeout dish. Better homemade.
For the Crispy Beef
Ingredients
For the Crispy Beef
1 lb ground beef
4 tbsp. cornstarch
2 egg whites
3 Tbsp. Soy sauce
For the sauce:
1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
1/4 cup apricot preserve (can sub with orange juice and orange zest of one large fruit)
3 tbsp. Soy sauce
Instructions
For crispy beef:
Mix together. Let sit for about 10 minutes and then fry it in some oil. I use about 3-4 tbsp of oil and fry it in 2 batches.
I let the beef in the hot oil, break it up a little bit and then let it just sit and fry for about 4 minutes before turning over and doing that to the other side. You should have a nice crusty ground beef mixture.
Remove and set aside. Repeat with rest of beef.
For the sauce:
Bring the mixture to a soft simmer and let it reduce till it’s syrupy.
Then add the crispy beef into the mixture and mix well.
Serve over rice
