Phili Steak Meatballs 🙏🏻 #fakeouttakeout done on a budget and actually tastes better then the real thing!

And for those asking … #kosher so no cheese. But you can totally add some vegan cheese or use the impossible meat to make the meatballs and use real cheese.

Both ways come out delicious. But truthfully I love it just with a drizzle of Ceaser dressing.

And THANK YOU @kosher_taste for making these frozen sliced mixed peppers – literally saves me so much time in the kitchen and just makes life easier 🙌🏻

Ingredients

Scale

For the meatballs:

1 LB ground meat

1 large egg

2 tsp salt

1 tsp. Pepper

1 tsp. Turmeric

2 tbsp sweet paprika

1 tbsp. Smoked paprika

1 tsp. Garlic powder

1 tsp. Onion powder

1/2 tbsp. Minced onions

1 tbsp. Dried parsley

3 tbsp. Brown sugar

3 onions, sliced thin

1 bag @kosher_taste frozen mixed sliced peppers, defrosted

Salt and pepper

2 tsp. smoked paprika

1 tsp. Sweet paprika

2 tsp. Dried parsley

1 tsp. Garlic powder

1 tsp. Onion powder

For the Onions & Peppers:

1/2 cup honey brown sugar bbq sauce (I use @sweetbabyrays)

1/4 cup ketchup

1/4 cup sweet teriyaki sauce

1 large lemon, juiced

Instructions

Mix the ground meat with the spices and egg and for meatballs.

In a large pan that is coated with oil, pan fry the meatballs on both sides for a few minutes till they get crispy on top me bottom.

Remove and set aside.

In the same dirty pan, add your onions and mix well with all the drippings in the pan. Then add the @kosher_taste peppers and mix it with the onions. Then add the spices and mix well.

Then add all the sauces with the teriyaki and lemon juice and mix well.

Then add the meatballs back into the pan, lower flame and cover and cook for 15 minutes.

Serve in a hoagie or over rice or noodles.
